Happy Thursday! Who does not like the smell of cow manure and loud sounds of cows mooing & roosters crowing! (Okay…let’s be real, we would not miss the cow manure). This burgundy background reminded me of life on the FARM and you have to admit this scene goes very well with my burgundy stockings!!!).  My angle was to combine the look of farm girl meets the 20th century. At first, I wore a black dress and decided to wear a jean button-up over the dress to keep this more of a polished look. Personally, fashion is just playing around with colors schemes and making your own unique clothing statement. Tell me what you think, do you like this combo of brown and black, and burgundy?
Important Note: I’m so happy to finally have a signature for my blog “Fashion Love Akinyi”…Your probably wondering why the heart is black…. I wanted to keep this heart black to compliment the pink, but trust me there is no black hearts over here….hehehe….Have a good day!

Happy Thursday!!! Purple is making a big come back this season. I can go on and on about things to say about purple and let me tell you……

     Purple is Royalty………………………………………………..Purple is overlooked
Purple is culture and art…………………………………..Purple is grape
                               Purple is imperial………………………….Purple is Fashion
Purple is amethyst ……………………………..Purple is my DRESS!

I love wearing this color because it can be worn on any occasion. It all depends on how you coordinate your outfit. I chose to wear a fur vest over this purple dress paired with funky stockings and purple booties. I was shying away from wearing too many accessories with the intent to focus on the purple dress. The only accessory I added was a pair of multi-colored sunglasses with a purple hue. This look can be worn whenever and as always keep it classy………What do you think? Am I ready for a dinner date? (that’s right) wink!

Happy Friday! How many of you love to shop in the mall? Ummm…I know every lady or girl goes to the mall more than they should ( or maybe every time they get paid…lol!)…I never thought this would be the day that I would hate coming to the mall. As soon as I started posing for the camera, I got chased down by a mall security guard. I literally had to watch my back as my photographer was sneaking in photos. The guard came over demanding that we not take photos in the mall. Every time I try to break the rules I always seem to get caught. You know that saying, you can run but you definitely cannot hide….

I am always thinking of new places to take photos for my blog and this idea turned out to be a big fail! On a much lighter note, I ended up taking nice photos outside of the mall in foggy and misty weather. I have seen a lot of blogs, pictures and videos where the setting was the mall. Apparently, there are strict rules in regards to taking photos in this kind of environment. It was not a real problem. Hey, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! What do you think?

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”

— Audrey Hepburn

Happy Friday!!! This quote from Audrey Hepburn touched my heart when I read it.  One thing I can say about myself is that I am a truly passionate person. When I care about something/someone, I put my all in it and I am never half-hearted. This concept can be overwhelming for some people because zeal/passion is hard to find, if it is not done for selfish purposes. Also, I would like to add that the definition of beauty is very narrow. Beauty is not so much your outer appearance (i.e. someone looks you in the eyes and for a brief moment you can see into the depths of their soul). The beauty in this is that you open yourself up and you are vulnerable to making a real connection.

I put this outfit together and never considered that the weather would mess up my hair! It surely got crazy/bushy looking and I even started to worry. Then I thought…who cares, I am thankful to have hair. This post made me realize that things are not always set in stone. You have to be willing to adapt to different things and still be able to work it! I know this sounds cheesy, but true beauty is within. What are your thoughts?

Wrapped in its beauty with a ribbon and a bow
deception is the veneer of what you don’t know
and unless your imagination is completely denied
it’s a package so pretty but empty inside!

Happy Friday! I hope your getting ready for the weekend! As you know, the metallic sweater has been a new addition to the fashion world. Critics have ostracized this type of sweater for being very uncomfortable, stiff, and bulky. I admit that it can be a little itchy; however the solution is to add a shirt underneath. Frankly speaking, I just love how rich this sweater looks. This metallic style is very similar to the sparkly trend in the way it brightens up your outfit. The looks for this particular sweater are endless. You can pair it with black straight legs or even booties. I opted for a funky look with just a dab of color by adding emerald greens and or oranges to compliment the gold sweater. Also, I wore a comfy button-up shirt underneath to alleviate the scratchiness of the sweater. I definitely would recommend the undergarment otherwise you might suffer. Well…what is that famous cliché? Beauty is pain.
