FW 17: DENBI BARCELONA REVIEW

What inspires a look or a garment? You can say, a work of art can inspire you which gives you vision and directs you to a space that allows one to create. Denbi Barcelona a designer from Barcelona was inspired by a masked called nostalgia. The handmade mask was indeed one of most accomplished art that Denbi created. For its complete crafted, simplest and minimalist aesthetic. Making a line that emulates this mask was what inspired his FW 17 line. There were pieces that were simple but yet elegant. Many of these pieces, I would rock to work. Usually, I want pieces that I can wear that are comfortable but yet I can mix and match. As we get older are style evolves as we evolve. It’s about putting more emphasis on sophistication instead of wearing the latest trend. Denbi Barcelona, didn’t disappoint bringing back fashion that’s fine taste and minimalism through design.

Hello All,

Long over due my Fashion Week Photos from Day #1. Let me tell you, Fashion Week was amazing this season FW 17. The fashion was super on point with many winter dresses you can wear into spring. I mean it was alot of easy causal looks that you can incorborate within your wardrobe.

Oh yeah and the fashion dresses were super elegant and eye-catching! I was so impressed with craftminship of each look. The fashion shows were’nt to bad either look on Instagram I was recording every moment from fashion week as possible. I think that fashion week starts literally 6 month before the fashion shows. You really need to plan all your outfits to a science…and the key wear comfrontable shoes. You’ll be walking the streets of NYC and wearing women fashion shoes that are comfrontable and trendy may be in your favor. This season I got my fashion game up by wearing things that are on trend and my go-to now is WHO WHAT WEAR brand from target. Well one of outfits I couldn’t fit, I was trying to lose some pounds before fashion week…I totally failed losing those pounds cause I love good food sorry it goes to my hips and I couldn’t get into one of my looks. So I went into target, I saw this flowery jacket from WHO WHAT WEAR and I was in love. I knew it wouldn’t be too much if I paired it with the matching skirt…Guess what I think it worked. Sometimes you may fail or flop, but always go with your gut in some situations…lol

Next year I got my team together, I should have more looks and videos to show you…Till next time!!!

Happy Saturday! I hope your doing well I’m trying to prepare for fashion week. So I’m super busy, I’m already in a lot of shows and it’s not February yet!?!?…the best is the designers contacting you to come to their shows. 
How do you prepare for fashion week? 
For me, I spend a month writing email pitch letter to PR companies and waiting for a response. I just send as many as 50 pitch letters and only getting into wait for it…LIKE ONLY 10!!!! Not to mention picking the best looks that will get me noticed! As I get older I’m about comfortable wear for clothes and shoes…especially, I can’t mess up my feet with the 6 inch heels…I’ll pass!!! Once I do that it’s about mixing and matching. I think as a blogger you already know what’s going to pop in a photo! 
I think this season, I’m going back to my preppy side with some edgy and polished pieces. So stay tuned to what I’m going to be wearing for fashion week!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!! Have you been in a moment where your mood has been set. That’s how I feel sometimes getting dressed. I go on my moods when putting on a outfit. It can be crazy sometimes but sometimes it can be a cool outcome. In this look it was centered around my pencil jean skirt. I really like to show my curves in a modest way not like, hey “I Have Curves”. It’s good to keep a little to the imagination.  
I’m very cautious about it, I could never go outside with tight clothing. It would totally make me self-conscious. Even though people out here trying to get butt implants. Sorry I had to go there!!!! I should totally embrace it. Let’s give up to my curves and not caring…right!?!?!

Happy Friday! I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted! I needed a break from blogging just to actually enjoy life right now….I really have reflected alot during that time…I really need to have ME time! It’s good to take breaks and come back feeling more refreshed wth new ideas and creativity boosting out of you! Today, I want to feel like the new Akinyi that’s confident loves life..I was at a place I was ok with certain things in my life. I felt like I wasn’t growing. Sometimes you have to close one door to open another door…Otherwise you won’t get to your full potential when you feel stuck! One of my friends told me, just push yourself with blogging. At the time I was not in a god place I was really sad and depressed….I felt like I needed something to distract me at the time. So my baby right now is blogging!!!! And he believed in me cause I felt like some people didn’t believe in me..but least he did! Sometimes you need a cheerleader in your life…you know!!!! I’m just showing all of me which is Akinyi the good the bad and maybe the pretty! Sorry I had to get deep!?!?!
Now about my look, I choose this look, cause I like minimal looks now..I’m all about just adding a pop of color…If you noticed I wear things on repeat. Who doesn’t love faux fur, it’s the best go to for winter. You can dress up and down ultimately you look fabulous! Doesn’t it make you look so chic. I’m telling you all wear this faux fur coat all year long…hehehe What I love about this jacket you can wear it with all black, blues, browns, whites, most colors…This trend won’t go out of style anytime soon! So definitely get this faux fur jacket…Lucky I got this jacket at forever21 for like $19.99….STEAL!?!?!
