Happy Wednesday! I hope your having a good week so far! Who doesn’t love fashion magazines?, I have a serious confession…The magazines you see in these pictures are not even half of the magazines I have in my house. I collect magazines like they are shoes, I love getting new issues, it’s completely hard to throw them out…I should know by now, most of the fashion magazines have been recycled from year to year! As you can see I have issues from 2009 and we are in 2014, yeah that’s right 5 years I have been collecting these magazines……

I decide to do a different kinda shoot where the sun just hits my face. In some of the photos I’m totally squinting my eyes, it’s oh ok I love the effect of these photos being overexposed. To feel overexposed feeling “too much of something, especially to allow somebody to appear too much and too often”. In these photos, it gives it a nice effect, what do you think?

Happy Wednesday! Shout to my cousin Becka Duncan love that girl, she gave me this top a couple years when she was interning in DC and I think about her everytime I wear it. I love when my family or friends give me something of theirs, literally I’m not throwing this top away.

This post is all about my cousin Becka who I have gotten closer to over the past couple of years, she is that person that you want to be around all the time, she means so much to me and my family. She’s the most beautiful person in out, such a giving person always thinking of me. I miss you girl, I can’t wait to come to Hawaii to visit hopefully this year!!!!

We can love fashion all day, but we have to work on our inside. Really fashion is within….Which will make you feel put together from in and out. I’m taking a hint from my cousin and I today work on my inside. I hope that you can see the changes that relates to my fashion within….See you next time!

Hello Happy Wednesday! I hope your having a good week so far. Have you been to TJMAXX feeling overwhelmed and frustrated or just feeling discouraged to find that perfect dress? A couple years, I had bought this Calvin Klein dress I got at TJMAXX for like 19.99, it’s the best dress I have ever bought. The quality is magnificent and makes me feel like a queen. When I get it dirty I always dry clean it, which is key for keeping your dress still looking good!

Today, is all about body types as I was saying before about TJMAXX you feel like you have to search to find that one dress that looks absolutely good on you. For me, I glance into TJMAXX picking almost 5 to 6 dresses that maybe be out of my comfort zone that’s a total different style…I know immediately the one that looks good on me. When shopping in store like this go with your gut…Usually the one that you know flatters your body is the one that makes you feel the best. Always shop your body type!

Hello Happy Wednesday! Beauty Tip: Drink as much lemon water helps skin and body!

Can I tell you, how much I love lemon water!?!?! The only way I can drink water nowadays by adding slices of lemons (or lime).

My Lemon Daily Regime:

1. Cut two slices of lemon (or lime)

2: Get a water bottle preferable with a straw (or any kind of water bottle)

3: Add maybe one or two slices of lemon (or lime) to the water

4: Use a straw or your hands to squeeze out the lemon (or lime) juice

5: This should last you all day, every time you add water to your water bottle…squeeze more lemon juice from the lemon (or lime) into your water

Lemon water has many health benefits by drinking lemon water everyday helps with weight loss, immune system, clearer skin, and fresh breathe. Especially drinking lemon water in the morning, I have been noticing that my skin looks clearer and several people have been commenting on how good my skin looks. They say that lemon water, helps keep you zen….I don’t feel as stressed and more calmer..maybe?!?! If you feel good inside you’ll definitely look good outside, so lemon water can do the trick. It’s so refreshing to drink lemon water it gives you a well balanced day…Try it!!!!

1.What does my name mean? My name Akinyi comes from a Luo tribe in Kenya means born in the morning. What’s crazy I actually was born in the morning.

2. Favorite Color: Blues

3. How many siblings do you have? I have two sisters an older and younger, so I’m a middle child yeah and no middle child syndrome over here!

4. How tall are you? I’m 5’4

5. Favorite Blog: My two favorite blogs are Courtney Kerr at What Courtney Wore and Jenny at Crazy Style Love.

6. What is your blogging secret? I don’t think there is a secret to being a successful blogger. I think that anyone can be blogger, “what you put out is what you’ll receive”. You should make it a habitat to have different materials or blog posts. Be set apart from other bloggers by being who you are and embracing it!

7. Do you have pets? I have dog a rottweiler his name is Stone. He may look vicious, but he’s the most loyal and loving dog…

8. Favorite perfume: Jessica Simpson Fancy. This perfume smells so good on me, it has such a sweet smell!

9. Can you cook? Yeah actually, I do know how to cook. I learned a little bit of some skills from my mother. I mainly know how to cook Kenyan and American foods. What really helps my cooking skills, trying new recipes on recipe.com and yummly. I really think of cooking as an art there’s so many different creative ways to make a dish.

10. What’s your favorite thing to do besides blogging? I love exercising it really helps my self-esteem and of course blowing off some steam! On my spare time, I love browsing on you-tube and polyvore it’s such a great help with getting inspired.

Hello Happy Thursday! I hope you didn’t miss me too much, I had the flu since last week. I’m back, I wanted to show you some photos from NYC! If you haven’t been following crop top trend, definitely incorporate within your wardrobe. Since, the 90’s crop tops are the most popular summer trend still continues to be booming. Crop tops work best with a-line skirt or high waisted bottom. For me, I’m not into exposing my stomach. I opted with wearing a high waisted skirt, but still staying on trend. Wear a crop top the way you feel comfortable in it. I like it when just showing a sneak peak of skin, not overexposed try for a more polished look!

They are truly perfect for this hot weather, they are light and free, and you can dress them up anyway you like. Pair them with a buttoned-up top, t-shirt, or even a tank top, works with many possible combos. Don’t hesitate to opt for the printed pants in bright shades to make you stand out from the crowd.I wanted to have a laid back look, but still looking put together. Choosing a comfortable look by adding my cap gives this a California look!?!?!

NYC MEETS NEON….

Hello Happy Wednesday! I hope your having a wonderful week so far! I went to NYC a couple weeks ago for a Fashion Blogger Conference called BeautyCon. As a result, I took many pictures this look is what I wore to the conference. My photographer and I were rollin’ in Brooklyn and found some cool spots for this photo shoot. Looking through the pictures for this blog post today, I decided to just post all of the photos that I took. This first shoot was near an apartment that had a modern garage, it’s so interesting cause NY doesn’t really have garages let alone people don’t really drive!?!?

Walking around, we found this cool canvas. You won’t believe it, this wall is part of a mechanic shop. Well….. I’m sure you knew cause of these art logos. I like how it’s art, in NYC is all about, how art perceives to you?” This wall created a story of some young artist feeling inspired by the white canvas wall. Or they wanted make it known of the mechanic shop and the many cars to be fixed! Who knows they made a sign or story to me it’s ART…Sounds interesting?!?!

Oh course all this walking, sure made me want to sit. I found this church that had really cool stairs. I just sat down for a nice breezy Saturday! I actually love these photos because of it’s simplicity and how I’m just sitting down just relaxed. Honestly, I was looking at the sun, it was bit chilly that day….I still had a good photo shoot…
