Hello Happy Wednesday! I’m totally in love with the suede and fringe trend.
Honestly, there my new items to add to my closet, I feel like my wardrobe has just been revamped!!!!
This style will create a bohemian 70’s look. Everywhere you turn from the runway to streetstyle many women are living it up with the brown suede looks.
What I love about fringe suede jackets have the ultimate modern yet funky appeal!!! You can find any suede fringe jacket in any fashion store, I picked up this cape suede jacket at Zara for a reasonable price of $29.99.
Pick up a suede jacket at any fashion store near you!

Target: Jean Top
Gap: Boyfriend Jeans
NYC Vintage Shop: Long Scarf
NYS Collection: Sunnies
NARS Cosmetics: Red Lip
Lord & Taylor: Purple Leather Gloves

I wore this look two Sundays ago when I went to Asia Fashion Collection
As you see, it was Valentine’s Day I had to definitely represent with a whole red look ensemble. I literally was thinking what could I wear  for Valentines without looking like a red heart…hahahaha I went with all jean with accents of red to complete my look.
Asian Fashion Collection was held at the Piers 59 Studio, the show was amazing of collaborative Asia Designers creating different pieces for their runway debut. What stood out was the textures and mixing the more modern look with sophisticated pieces. It was quiet unique the designers tastes still giving us fierce and edgy sitting at the edge of your seats wanting to see more!!!! Well maybe that was just me!?!?! I feel for the past couple of years, Asia Fashion Collection continues to Wow us but building a brand that started off as a project of collaborative designers now has evolved in clothing line.
Below are the photos from the Asian Fashion Collection show:

Loving the thrill of dressing up for #NYFW !!!! Finding what to wear for Fashion Week, can be nerve racking?!?! Once you realize what you want to wear vs. comfort…you can come up with some cool looks. I got this jacket and pant suit at H&M knew that I wanted to add edge with this look. I paired it with my metallic oxford and shiny sunnies to match. It was super cold in NYC, I added my vintage cobalt blue cape that kept me warm for a couple of hours. It’s still was a cool look that people would comment on how they loved my metallic shoes…Definitely going to NYC I would say wear comfortable shoes especially if your going to be walking around in the city. I see a lot of New York Fashion incorporating comfortable shoes with their looks…sometimes flats always wins!?!?!

AKINYI’S FASHION DIARY: VIVIENNE HU FASHION SHOW …

Anticipation of waiting for New York Fashion Week to start was all that I could think about for the past month and coming weeks. As Fashion Week started I had a full 3 day packed with shows back to back. Why was I so excited to see fashion shows…let me tell you fashion shows are amazing…Although I love the new trends and styles that come down the runway….most of time I’m looking at the attendees on “What They Wore” to fashion connections I could potentially make with fashion minded individuals like myself.

Now, Sunday I went to Vivienne Hu show..first off if you haven’t noticed many of the fashion shows for the second time in a row have been offsite. Which is amazing I want to see how the runway will look and Vivienne Hu didn’t disappoint. Her show was in a offsite location called the Artbeam Gallery, this gallery was very spacious and had the best lighting.  I loved that they took the time to put our names for our seat assignment. Which made it very personal, also Vivienne Hu teamed up with A to G lingerie each guest received a silk tie as a gift…I could totally use it as a scarf around my neck…
Vivienne Hu’s Collection was made up of separates and one pieces that range for the modern or edgy women. I liked that her pieces could be paired with different textures. Take for instances this jacket below, I adore this look, she had a simple puffy jacket and added faux fur to the collar and sleeves…can you say brilliant!
I enjoyed that each piece was flattering depending on what style women you are, your go-to is wearing a wrapped dress, long maxi, coat, or definitely lace..No matter what style you prefer Vivienne was strategic in making a variety pieces that you can admire or wear! Lastly, she made pieces that were definitely funky but still having a sophisticated appeal!

CHECK YOURSELF….

WHAT I WORE:
Thirft store: Dress & Jacket
Forever 21: Belt
NYS Collection: Sunnies
JustFab: Booties
Makeup Meltdown: Burgundy Lip
Hello Happy Friday!!! Snow hasn’t started on the east coast yet. As for me, I’m getting caught up on some sleep and TV shows I don’t have time to watch during the week!?!?. I did this look a couple weeks ago, I was like I love just adding accessories to a look making it completely different. The trend these days are to add a belt to a blazer, coat, sweater…and so on…I love belts I use to wear belts with anything back in the day. You know you have retired the look but you can bring it back……..until you get sick of the look once again!!!!!
I got this dress and blazer from a thrift store at first I was like not wanting to purchase these items. Than I realized that I had to get them and wear these pieces together.
Shopping for thrift items takes precision make sure:
1) The items are not damaged, ruined, faded (unless their denim such as boyfriend jeans, chambray top, vest, jacket, and etc….)
2) Make sure the quality of the item looks like you picked it off a department store rack
3) Pick items that work in your wardrobe and this item can be worn on repeat!!!
4) If the price is right definitely get this item.
Now thrift stores are the best if you purchase correctly you can get some really good steals. When I’m shopping anywhere I have to imagine it in my wardrobe or how it will work in my wardrobe. I have gotten better of not just buying items just to buy them.
What do you think about this look?

GOLD WIITH SILVER….

Photos by: Carlton Hart
TJMAXX: Sweater & Black and White Top
HM: Jeans
JustFab: Pumps
Makeup Meltdown: Lip Color
Sunnies: Unknown
Hello Happy Wednesday!!! Well I remember when my mom was like you can’t wear silver and gold together. It was so unheard of to mix the two together. Now more than ever you see metallic gold and silver being worn together in clothing, jewelry, and shoes. Ultimately the most sophisticated way to pair the two. It can be a struggle to make an outfit a little bit interesting. Wearing gold and silver really gives your look more of a clean and sleek appeal. Adding metallic gold or silver to a simple look, will certainly bring any look with  metallic gold and silver come alive.   I decided to wear metallic gold and silver in my look, it felt like pairing black and white together. Definitely, don’t be scared to dive in slowly with wearing metallic in your wardrobe.
What do you think?

Hello Happy New Year 2016!!!! Finally, I wanted this to be my first post coming into #2016. I absolutely love green it’s now one of my favorite colors. I got this wrap top from HM Balamin Line it was $59.99 got it on sale during the Christmas sale for $25. I literally snatched that top up with the quickness.
So this 2016, it’s all about not wasting any time bring my all. I have so much to offer that I don’t see my worth, I think I need a reality check for myself……hahahahaha This what I’ve learned so much in 2015:
1) I would just say my opinion not really thinking before I speak because I had to much of a bias opinion. I made everything a personal problem. When really I didn’t need to have one. I just need to be quiet let people live and make their own mistake. I can’t save anyone only the person upstairs can.
2) I’ve tried to wear trends that don’t work for my body type and I need to stick with works for me.
3) I’ve rocked my hair straight to natural…and loving it.
4) Putting myself out there not worrying about what people think of me.
5) Lost friends but gained a few more.
6) Being truly happy and not looking at the past or holding a grudge.
7) Definitely too old for this…Don’t waste time!?!?!
8) My Blog is worth such more and I need to make it worth more. By putting more effort, time, and knowledge, and work. Being unique in what I post but still staying true to my style. Working with more high end companies to get the recognition I deserve!!!!!
9) Actually eating healthy doesn’t just consist of just drinking water..hahaha. Making an effort to go to the gym…cause I will look my best in turn feeling my best. Pushing myself to be the best I can.
10) Literally being me and embracing who I am not apologizing for it….11) Well I can apologize to anyone I’ve hurt
Now my 2016, being influential, informative, and more assertive in what I want. Oooooooh And being quiet and just listen to people. Keep my opinions to myself unless there warranted….So hard…hahahaha
Bye 2015 and Hello 2016!!!!!

Hello Happy Tuesday! I don’t know anyone that can’t live without cheetah, it’s literally the new black. I got this dress from hm a couple years ago, everytime I wear this dress I feel my inner animal…cheetah is such a versatile print you can wear it with almost anything. You can’t have enough cheetah I literally have almost everything cheetah  in my wardrobe. If your like me and constantly wear black then wearing cheetah will give you some edge in you wardrobe. This dress is sheer so I definitely had to wear something underneath. I didn’t want to add too much jewelry just keeping this look simple as possible.
Can you live without cheetah?
See you next time!!!!!!!
